Welcoming 2019 at the SyCom Summit

Our Sales and Engineering Teams started off the new year by gathering in Richmond for the 2019 SyCom Summit. The purpose of this internal, 2-day kickoff event was to review company activity for 2018 and set initiatives for 2019. After opening remarks given by SyCom CEO Tom Cricchi, our Executives took the stage to deliver presentations – our Richmond VIP of Sales, Tom Carr, and Roanoke VP of Sales, Tom Spitnale, reviewed our 2018 success from a Sales perspective and provided insight on growth for 2019; our Chief Technology Officer, Twann Atkins, gave technology updates and spoke on what changes and upgrades to expect in 2019; our Chief Information Security Officer, Allen Jenkins, updated the team regarding our Consulting Practice and what is to come in 2019 from a security perspective; and our Director of Marketing and Partner Programs, Sarah Virgin, unveiled our newly composed Unique Value Proposition and explained how Marketing will be executing new branding strategies. It was a full line up! This content delivery approach was a great way for all SyCom members to understand in-depth how different departments work together to deliver business solutions and to learn more about the exciting changes to come in the new year.

After Day 1, everyone headed to River City Roll, a boutique bowling alley located in downtown Richmond, for an evening of fun and networking. Our vendor partner sponsors joined us for the evening. Employees mingled with our partner representatives and bowled the night away. A special thanks to all our participating 2019 sponsors: Cisco, Citrix, Microsoft, DellEMC, HPE, QTS, Veeam, VMware, Fortinet, Barracuda, Nutanix, Flexential, Vertiv and Winthrop.

On the second and final day of Summit we had two guest speakers join us. Anita Nielsen, President of LDK Advisory Services, LLC, joined us for a Training Session. Nielsen is a Sales Performance Consultant and Coach with over 20 years of experience in B2B sales and support, primarily focused on technology solution providers. Her training session focused on ‘The Psychology of Selling’ and introduced a new, creative perspective to our team. Additionally, Alex Peavey spoke as our Motivational Speaker. As a Mindfulness Coach, Peavey delivered an inspiring message about the importance of mindfulness that left our team feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Once again, our SyCom Summit was an awesome way to gear up for the new year!
