Earlier this month SyCom had a strong presence at RVAsec 2017, a security convention that brings top speakers to the mid-Atlantic region. This two-day event was hosted on campus at Virginia Commonwealth University – a public university located in downtown Richmond, Virginia. Our Security Systems Engineer, Jonathan Hall, and Senior Systems Engineer, Rick Lull, were onsite to represent SyCom and learn the latest and greatest coming out of the security world.
Lull also had the opportunity to present during a breakout session, entitled “Adventures in (Dynamic) Network Segmentation or And That’s How I Got This Scar”. Network segmentation can build a foundation for a thorough approach to defense in depth in your security program. Lull was joined by Shannon Yeaker – a Lead Consultant with Impact Makers in the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Practice – and together the pair discussed some of the challenges and successful strategies to create a solid and sustainable network segmentation practice.
