SyCom kicked off the new year with our annual SyCom Sales and System Engineers Summit. Our 2017 theme was, Las Vegas! Our Sales team, Engineering team, and company executives gathered at the Westin hotel in Richmond for this 2-day event. The purpose of this internal, teambuilding-focused event was to review company activity for 2016 and set initiatives for 2017. Day 1 consisted of opening remarks by CEO Tom Cricchi, VP of Sales Tom Carr, Engineering Director Wayne Luck, and Director of Solution Architecture Twann Atkins. Following this, each department was given a chance to review successes of 2016 and provide insight on what to expect in 2017. These presentations gave our employees the chance to connect with their coworkers and know what is going on companywide.
After day 1, SyCom Summit attendees proceed to an evening casino-themed reception for a night full of Blackjack, Roulette, Texas Hold ‘Em, Craps, and a Money Wheel courtesy of Group Dynamics Entertainment. The Last Call band performed for the evening. SyCom Summit attendees were encouraged to chat with our vendor partner representatives in attendance to earn gambling chips. At the end of the night, each attendee cashed out and winnings were tallied.
These points carried over to day 2, which was full of teambuilding activities planned for us by All About Presentation (AAP). AAP joined us at the Westin and all SyCom Summit attendees were assigned to teams. Teams then participated in Vegas-themed games, such as Casino War, Casino Bingo, Roulette, and Craps. It was a blast! After teambuilding time, Sales team members and System Engineers broke off into their respective groups to review and plan with their leaders. After reconvening, we were joined by a motivational speaker, Command Master Chief (SEAL) Steve Van Horn. Van Horn talked about his teamwork experiences in the Navy, which was very humbling and inspiring. Our 2017 SyCom Summit was concluded with the announcing of team winners and a word from our CEO. Being our 20th year in the business, 2016 was a big year for SyCom. We look forward to more growth and success in 2017.
