Our Sales and Engineering Teams started off the new year by gathering in Richmond for the 2020 SyCom Summit. The purpose of this internal, two-day kickoff event was to review company activity for 2019 and set initiatives for 2020. This year our theme was: Customer Success. After opening remarks given by SyCom CEO Tom Cricchi, our Executives took the stage to deliver presentations – our Richmond VIP of Sales, Tom Carr, and Roanoke VP of Sales, Tom Spitnale, reviewed our 2019 success from a Sales perspective and provided insight on growth for 2020; and our Director of Customer Success Management, John Barrar, gave insight on what our vision for 2020 would be.
To keep things engaging and interactive, volunteers from both our Sales team and Engineering teams got up to present customer case studies revolved around our three technology transformations: Workforce Transformation, IT Transformation and Security Transformation. This content delivery approach was a great way for all SyCom members to understand in-depth how different departments work together to deliver business solutions in real world situations.
After Day 1, attendees headed to Drive Shack – a boutique entertainment destination with cutting-edge interactive golf – for an evening of fun and networking. Our vendor partner sponsors joined us for the evening. Employees mingled with our partner representatives and golfed the night away. A special thanks to all our participating 2020 sponsors: Cisco, Citrix, Cohesity, Microsoft, Dell EMC, HPE, QTS, Veeam, Barracuda, Nutanix, QTS and Winthrop.
On the second and final day of Summit our Sales and Engineering teams split up for individual breakout sessions, giving leaders a chance to focus on content specific to their areas of expertise. This was followed by more fun – a social hour complete with a bloody mary and mimosa bar and a few rounds of trivia as our teambuilding activity. Additionally, Will Turner spoke as our Motivational Speaker. Will Turner is a speaker, author and trainers with over 25 years of experience working with companies to improve performance. He is the founder of RefuseOrdinary and Live Your Bold. As an avid endurance athlete and coach who completed 60 Ironman triathlons the year he turned 60, Will delivered an inspiring message about perseverance and never giving up, which helped our team feel geared up for 2020. Once again, our SyCom Summit was an awesome way to get excited for the new year!
