SyCom CEO Tom Cricchi dedicates much of his time to his company; however, he has passions that extend outside of his working world. For instance, he sits on the board of The Greater Richmond ARC, a local Richmond charity creating life-fulfilling opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Earlier this month, Cricchi attended the Virginia Council of CEO’s two-day retreat with 100+ small and mid-sized company leaders. The retreat was led by renowned business author Marshall Goldsmith (“What Got You Here Won’t Get You There”, “Triggers”). During his keynote address, Goldsmith asked if anyone had a favorite charity they supported. Cricchi, who just so happened to be sitting front and center, seized the moment to talk about The Greater Richmond ARC and the impact they have on the lives of people within the local community.
After hearing Cricchi’s comments about ARC’s mission, many CEO’s decided to step up and donate to the charity. By the end of the retreat Cricchi had raised just over $1,500. He recently commented on the experience: “Lesson: Don’t be shy about letting people know about a cause that stirs your passion.”
